Our son has almost made it through the first semester of college. And it has had its learning curve. It hasn't been a overly harsh curve, thankfully just enough to get his attention. He has learned that a calendar is valuable – and lost a job opportunity learning that. He has learned that he has to clean his room and clothes without anyone reminding him but an empty sock drawer. He has learned that college is expensive and money doesn't go as far as he thought, so coming home and running everyone around while here puts a big dent in his budget. He also learned that he does his best when pushed a bit and a 4 class schedule is way too much free time. He will learn this up close and personal with 17 credits next semester.
