I've been worried about my teen spending large blocks of time online in social network, instant messaging and in chat rooms. The threat of online predators and adult content has alwasy worried me. I decided to get online monitoring software from a company called chatsec and was very pleased with the result. The program was targeting certain language and I was alerted to the fact that my son was the victim of bullying from a classmate. I called the principal of his school and they put a stop to it. It made my son so much happier when he wasn't dealing with the stress , shame and secrecy of this problem.

Nice! Good job! You have to use whatever tools you can when it comes to the computer. We discovered that our router could block objectionable websites, and we installed that option. We use Safe Eyes for our computers, but if they got on the DS or iPad they could bypass that. Now any wifi device that's attached to the router will have it's sites blocked!

I am also worried about how my teenage daughter is acting out lately. She has a laptop and is very occupied at home. She is acting like she is hiding something from me. When I checked her laptop when she was away, it had a password so she is really hiding something. And I noticed that there is also a change in the way she dress, more revealing. So I talked to her and she said that its a phase in every teenagers life to dress that way. Im worried, so I had "the talk" with her. We discussed issues regarding boys, sexual activities, pregnancy and even protection. Its a very awkward topic but we gotta talk about it. Communication is very important to have a good mother/father-daughter/son relationship.
