I love this subject because there is so many different opinions, you never run out of things to talk about.  My favorite reading material on these subjects is by Dr. Amen.  You can check out his stuff on his website  www.theamensolution.com and http://www.amenclinics.com or http://www.brainplace.com  all will point you to the same information.  I am a huge fan! Laugh

Cool! That brain stuff is pretty interesting – we've got all our kids in neurotherapy, it's helping a bunch! Here's our article: http://positiveparentingskills…..r-and-adhd

Are you going to Dr. Thurber?  I probably spelled that wrong… oops.  I have friends out here near Salem Or. who travel to Dr. Thurber and they love it.  I have not yet explored the Qeeg and Neuro feedback, I just went to a class, Dr. Emily Cleveland, out of Portland, she talked about the brain mapping and the supplements that can go along with it.  Very interesting stuff, glad to see that you have had a positive experience with it!

Yes, Dr. Thurber! He's great! The brain mapping is fascinating. EMDR is another area that we haven't tried yet, but seems pretty promising, especially for us parents with secondary PTSD!

I have seen great results with the EDMR and PTSD,  not personally, but I have seen it make a change.

True. ADHD is a very exciting and complex topic thats why most forums has a section devoted to SPECIAL NEEDS. Anyway, I stumble on this article about Effective Support Programs for teens with ADHD/ADD. It talked about the different type of programs available that will help them cope with family, friends, school and basically how to deal with all that is happening around them. Like there are: Counseling, Individual/Family Therapy, Support Groups, Camps and Therapeutic Schools.

You should read it. :D
